About Chris

Chris Bollen is the dedicated and passionate founder of C.T. Bollen Mental Health Solicitors. Beginning his career in a general high street firm dealing with criminal defence and family law, he deliberately chose to assign his traineeship to specialise in mental health and incapacity law. This decision was deeply personal, shaped by a family history that includes a younger brother’s significant brain injury and the family’s involvement with mental health services. This experience has fostered a profound understanding, shaping Chris’ approach to compassionate and empathetic interactions with all clients.

The heart of Chris’ professional philosophy lies in a client-centred approach. Speedy appointments and solid relationships with independent consultant psychiatrists ensure that clients receive a prompt and highly specific service. His dedication to client needs is unwavering, reflected in the core values that underpin his practice.

Throughout his career, Chris has been involved in complex legal cases that have tested his expertise and honed his skills. These include successful appeals against Short-Term Detention Certificates and Compulsory Treatment Orders, cross-border transfers, conditions of excessive security appeals, and unlawful detention cases. He has consistently demonstrated success in challenging mental health orders, bolstering his reputation as a skilled and dedicated solicitor.  His extensive experience enables him to provide insightful and comprehensive representation to clients facing a wide range of mental health issues
